Avengers is really inconsistent in terms of keeping with the same tone and characterisation of the previous Marvel movies. I think it remains my biggest problem with the film. :/ Well, that and Cobie Smulders who plays Maria Hill. (A character who garners more hatred from me on repeated viewing.)
Thor may turn out to be my preference as I find it has more interesting themes, and is multi layered. (Sorry Joss.)
